Ideal as a base for touring the best of the English Lakes, within a short distance from Grange over Sands you can be in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Local towns such as Coniston, Windermere and Ambleside are all well within an hours drive and offer an enormous range of activities and attractions. In addition, the larger market town of Kendal offers numerous shops and eating places.
A little further afield are the Yorkshire Dales, the vast Trough of Bowland and of course the North Lakes with its more rugged scenery and towns such as Keswick and Cockermouth.
If you don't fancy travelling quite so far during your stay, there are plenty of attractions closer to the hotel. Holker Hall and Motor Museum, the Aquarium of the Lakes, Levens Hall and Gardens and the Lakeland Miniature Village are just a few of the popular destinations right on the doorstep.
