Whatever your special occasion may be, anniversaries, special birthdays, naming ceremonies or celebrations of a life well lived, our team are here to help you plan your event and create a memorable occasion.

We have a variety of rooms that are suitable for gatherings from two to one hundred and fifty two. Grand oak panelled drawing rooms, bright light filled event rooms with sweeping views over Morecambe Bay and private dining rooms for intimate celebrations.

The Netherwood has a long tradition in this corner of the Lake District of hosting special events. Much loved for its breath taking views and stunning gardens, the house offers a warm welcome and charming interiors. The team are here to help you with every detail of your event; whatever you need, we will try to deliver.

Function Rooms:

Ballroom and Terrace Bar Lounge
The beautiful oak panelled ballroom, with original sprung dance floor and stunning carved stone fireplace, can be used alone or in conjunction with the adjoining Terrace Bar Lounge (with private bar facilities and access onto a terrace area). The ballroom can seat up to 50 guests for a sit down meal.

Residents lounge
The elegant and comfortable Residents Lounge is perfect for an afternoon tea or reception drinks before a lunch or dinner. This room has original stained glass windows with spectacular views across Morecambe Bay. With lounge seating it can comfortably seat up to 25 guests.

Library
The Library is a delightful intimate setting for smaller functions, and can seat up to 22 guests for a lunch or dinner.

Main Dining Room
A light and airy room which benefits from air-conditioning and panoramic picture windows. This room will seat a maximum of 50 guests. Please note the maximum numbers that can be catered for in all our function rooms depends on the room layout and seating arrangements.

Deakin Suite
The Deakin Suite is our largest function room. It is fully air-conditioned, and can seat up to 120 guests for a function. There is a marble area in the stunning bay window area that can be used as a dance floor if required. For very large functions the Deakin Suite and the Dining Room can be made into one room.
